Jakub Hlavica heads the strategy department at MVV

An experienced manager specialising in the energy market, Jakub Hlavica, MBA, takes over the management of the strategy department at MVV Energie CZ a.s. on 3 January 2022 from Branislav Posuch. Together with the top management, he will focus on the development of projects in the Group and the setting up of new processes responding to the dynamic evolution of the energy environment.

According to his extensive experience to date, Jakub Hlavica is able to orientate himself very quickly in the environment of strategic investments in energy production, purchasing, and distribution, on a global level. He has a strong basis for insight into a number of related areas, such as innovation, fuel sources, renewables, decarbonisation and end customer care," says Jörg Lüdorf, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MVV Energie CZ a.s.

Jakub Hlavica spent over ten years in Pražská teplárenská a.s. and has recently worked with Pražská plynárenská, a.s. He has gained a lot of experience during a management career, which has manifested in undoubted successes, from business development, through financial and investment management, to the field of IT and innovation processes. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Business Administration at Brno University of Technology, and also holds an MBA in Finance and Controlling from the University of Economics and Business Administration in Vienna.

The energy group MVV Energie CZ comprises fifteen companies operating in fifteen cities in the Czech Republic. The Group’s parent company is MVV Energie CZ a.s., which was established in October 1993. Since 1999 the company has been a subsidiary of MVV Energie AG, a German energy group, based in Mannheim, Germany. The three main pillars of the MVV strategy are the production and distribution of thermal energy, the combined high-efficiency power production and the utilization of waste for energy generation.
