Personnel changes in the MVV Energie CZ group

From 1 January 2019, MVV Strategy is headed by Branislav Posuch. At the same time, Martin Pěnčík became the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of Teplárna Liberec.

Branislav Posuch is a graduate of the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague. He has extensive experience in oil processing and energy supply. At MVV, he spent time in the position of manager of the commercial and technical department in 2006. He then worked at OMV, Deloitte and CGI, focusing in particular on strategy, operational improvement, energy consumption optimization, and IT project management for clients in the power and oil industry. As a director of the strategy and development division, he will focus on the creation and management of MVV Group strategy, including acquisition, and succeeds Tomáš Mičánek.

Martin Pěnčík graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Economics in Prague, specializing in business economics and management. He comes from the position of director and member of KERI’s board of directors in automotive. Previously, he spent several years on the economic and strategic direction of the Czech subsidiary of the Swiss pharmaceutical company. Martin Pěnčík will continue the work of Vladimir Kravjansky, who was involved in the management of the Teplárna Liberec last year.

The energy group MVV Energie CZ comprises fifteen companies operating in fifteen cities in the Czech Republic. The Group’s parent company is MVV Energie CZ a.s., which was established in October 1993. Since 1999 the company has been a subsidiary of MVV Energie AG, a German energy group, based in Mannheim, Germany. The three main pillars of the MVV strategy are the production and distribution of thermal energy, the combined high-efficiency power production and the utilization of waste for energy generation.

Teplárna Liberec supplies fourteen thousand households, ten industrial customers and 130 tertiary sphere customers in Liberec. The central heat supply has been supplying heat to the city since 1976. Teplárna Liberec has been part of the MVV Energie CZ group since 2007. In the last few years, for heat supplies, most of the energy used is produces in the adjacent waste-to-energy facility TERMIZO and a smaller part comes from natural gas. Teplárna Liberec thus contributes significantly to the mantaining of a healthy environment.
